I’ve decided on a title of a segment for my music re-discoveries as I filling my iPod back to it’s previous glory.

And as of day one, I’ve successfully listened to five albums of different performers or bands. I’ve had a single listen through each album, which is barely enough to make any conclusions, but as of impressions – it’ll do.

A-Mei Chang – AMIT
An album from a Chinese performer that is actually good. I’m used to Chinese music being soft and slow, but in AMIT there’s very little of this. The album is actually very and very good listen.

Dream Theater – When Dream and Day Unite
It is my first album from this band and I’ve listened to both original (1989) and remastered (2002) versions of it. I’m still on the fence about what I think of it, but the sound of remastered version sounds obviously better. I think that the original album is for hardcore fans who would kill for anything Dream Theater. And in fact it provides some nice material to listen after the remastered one.
This album reminds me of “Salvage Poetry” albums by Edguy, same situation there. But on the Edguy album there were much more songs that clicked with me.

BARBEE BOYS – 1st OPTION
Weeeelllll…. I love my J-Music old and BARBEE BOYS drive a nail through every single pleasure center of my brain and warms them nicely with pleasant bursts of electricity. That one was a complex metaphor indeed. I love them so much, I can’t talk unbiased about this or any other of their albums.
Strangely, they’ve asked (someone) not to publish their lyrics over the Internet. This is sad. But I can make out most of their lyics anyway, so maybe not THAT sad.

Rin’ – Asuka
Japanese Pop-Folk music. I don’t have much to say about their music except that it is fresh, outstanding and overall awesome. But I’ll talk more about them eventually.

That was all for a day. Tommorrow albums would be as follows:
Anzen Chitai – Anzen Chitai I Remember to Remember
Perfume – 1st Complete Best
Kitahara Aiko – Message
Evanescence – Fallen

Okaaay, now, how long it was since my last post here ^^` There’s really so much time in a day and usually it is very difficult to dedicate any of it to blogging.
But things are changing.

Yesterday I’ve wiped my iPod clean. It was nice having about 5k songs on it, but it really was nothing more than a mess that somehow affected my brains. From today onwards I will build my collection in a little bit organized way, with songs’ ratings and stuff.

And guess what – I’ll try and write to this blog a bit more often with impressions on the music I listened to etc.

for the first day I’ve picked a bunch of albums:
A-Mei Chang – AMIT
Rin’ – Asuka
BARBEE BOYS – 1st OPTION
Dream Theater – When Dream and Day Unite (both original and remastered).

I’ll see how thing will be working out as well as how much new music I would be able to listen to on a daily basis. Reviews/impressions on some of this stuff – in about 10 to 14 hours from the time of this post.

I also can be found on Twitter @videogameoflife

Sorry for the exclamation mark in the title – I’m hell as exited right now.

It’s true that some time ago some sort of TV compilation from Animelo 2008 was available, but it was hardly the real thing (i’m watching it now, still rises my endorphin levels skyhigh).

And now, finally, we have the DVDs and BluRays of the event both.  Links for CDJapan follows:

DVDs

Animelo Summer Live 2008 -Challenge- 8.30 / Animation
Animelo Summer Live 2008 -Challenge- 8.31 / Animation

Blu-Rays

Animelo Summer Live 2008 -Challenge- 8.30 [Blu-ray] / Animation
Animelo Summer Live 2008 -Challenge- 8.31 [Blu-ray] / Animation

Everything to be released on March, 25th.

Well… I was originally planning to get my hands on those DVDs, but exchange rates rose nearly twice, which madу things rather complicated. I guess during this time the only things I’ll order from overseas are the most essential ones, like Limited Editions and other stuff that I can miss AND that I would hate to miss.
So, I’d love to order blu-rays, but not now I guess. *sigh*. Well, I’d probably will dl both DVDs and Blu-Ray-rips from the net, but that’s kinda different.

As I’m watching compilation mentioned earlier – it’s awesome, the whole thing. There’s so many performers I know, an yet there’s so many ones I do not. My heartbeat sets off as I see Halko or Horie Yui or Ishikawa Chiaki. Or Hirano Aya or Kuribayashi Minami or Masami Okui. Or ave;new, though this one was a surprise. Or Chihara Minori. Or… erm… the main idea is clear, I guess.
It feels nice. Sometimes I start to sing along with the singer, before even realising what song it is – lips just automatically reciting the lines they know and remember so clear.
I wish I could be there, but that isn’t possible, for a couple or more reasons. That is quite painful, when you start to think about it, so I usually refrain from such thoughts. Ah, well.

Anyway, I already can’t wait!
That was impossible to write the last line without exclamation mark once again, and it was hard enough not to set three in a row.

I know, I should write more into this blog, but real life gets in the way -__-

Here’s the second installation of the legendary “PVs”!

… not so legendary maybe, but I finally got some time to write a few words and upload a bunch of files.

Changes from this issue – there will be only one upload link for each PV – SendSpace one. This is due depressing amount of downloads I’ve decided to cut RapidShare.
Original files also can be downloaded from Vimeo.

Contents:
ZONE – akashi
Horie Yui – Love Destiny
Hinoi Team – Ike Ike
DEF.DIVA – Suki Sugite Baka Mitai
Kayou Aiko – Hitomi no Naka no Meikyuu

Forgot to mention it yesterday.

(Covers for popular anime songs)

Click the links for more data.

I surely will write smth about Halko later, for I find myself really attracted by her current music. But later, I have to get all my thoughts together.

I’m using CDJapan.co.jp affiliate links, but please do not think of this post as of advertisement (well, I’m taking advantage of situation, nothing more).

Again, what the hell is that? It’s not listed anywhere, and searching Google mostly returns torrents, which is doubtlessly weird.

I’ve recognised few seiyuus so far, as well as a couple of image or character songs, and there is also at least one cover of Halko’s “Tenbatsu Angel Rabbie” (by Nogawa Sakura; she also performed solo of “Hi Energy”, which originally was her duo with Halko; sorry for the long sentence).

As a show it’s not so fun – stage is small and there’s not that much room at all. Not a stadium, that is. But the music is nice, and in the end I watched this live completely without skipping anything. So, if you’re ill with j-music, I think you should give it a try.

Torrents:
- DVD-Rip
- Lossless DVD

Some info about the event in Japanese, plus tracklist – here.
Nyahaha, Google translates Miyazaki Ui (宮崎羽衣) as “Miyazaki plumage”.

This post is a short one – don’t have much time on hands right now, gotta go to work soon.

Karaoke subs for Animelo’s PV can be downloaded from RapidShare or Sendspace. Archive also includes CD booklet scans. Note: Timing might be not-so-good for the PV I’ve uploaded earlier (this sub is taken from another version). Credit for karaoke and scans goes to Discipline.

Next part. Some sort of Animelo 2008 CDs showed up in torrents – you can find it here. No idea what it might be, quality is better than bootleg and as a CDs they aren’t listed anywhere. Fan compilation maybe.

Argh, I’m late!
