Stalled

Hi there.

I had’t been posting lately, for a long time already. It’s kinda bothers me, that this blog goes into stalled state without any notice, so I’m writing this.
PVs download links are dying out, that is I’m aware off. Sad but true, at least vimeo links are quite alive, and you can download everything from there (though you should have the account there it seems).

Closing this place looks like a solution to me, but I don’t want to lost this blog address, I like it very much and probably it’s the best one I’ve ever had (well, except _rid on LJ, but you can’t use underscores in WP blognames).

So that’s it. Some changes have to be made here before start writing again, and I’ll do it eventually. But until that this plase will be kinda silent and deserted.

Various – Games

A few games I don’t want to write a separate post for each.

Mirror’s Edge – completed

The game is great, but story is kinda disappointing.  Like, everything is way too obvious and characters are treated… wrong I say, you’ll probably understand should you finish the game as well – do not want to spoil anything for this one. Nothing to expect from the story meant to be completed in 75 minutes.
Also, game movies (animated ones) probably were meant to be “stylish” but came out being “ugly”. Cut scenes would be much more welcome.
But the game actually isn’t about story – it’s about running and this part is hell as entertaining. Being first person, the feeling of all this jumping and climbing is totally different from what we’ve seen (felt?) in Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed and other of a kind. This might even become a new trend in FPS, who knows.
One thing left to be said is replay ability of the game. Putting aside speed run through story levels (75 minutes is actually the sum of all time limits for completing each chapter in speed run), there’s a lot of Time Trial challenges, and I guess it’ll be more later. And even more when PC version with level editor is released (wild guess, but they’ll be pretty dumb not to make an editor).
For now I put the game on hold until I’ll get PS3-copy – I’ve had enough of replaying Soul Calibur 4 on PS3 because other’s saves wasn’t valid.

Fable 2 – completed

I was bored out of my mind, so I ended up completing story in Fable 2. Personally I do hate lack of saves (so I’m unable to watch through all game endings without completing the game a few times), I do not like those KO+scars instead of death (what is it for? I’d ran through the game without upgrading my weapons at all), most of the quest is also a pure blunt idiocy. And story ends nowhere, means “Go and buy an add-on should you want the full cookie”.
I’ll probably check this add-on once it released, but I’m not sure I’ll pay for it. I can always borrow it from some friends of mine.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe – story completed

Weird fighting. I’m pretty familiar with MK (hehe, they’ve got Baraka back, kinda nostalgic), but I barely recognise the superheroes (I’ve never seen a half of them before).
I’ve played though both sides of the storyline, though never verified how solid it is. Cut scenes are nice, story is more like a reason for fight.
Fighting system might be disappointing should you expect anything from it – most of the moves are the same, except for signature ones, or vary in speed or power. Or at least it looks like it, I didn’t really was into exploring the moves list.
For a setting fan it might be quite entertaining to play, I think, so if you are one – you probably should give the game a try.

Cyber Girls

To be a little serious – it looks totally weird, no really, it’s the worst equip placement I’ve seen so far. Still it’s fun.
